Definition
Monthly Recurring Revenue -- the predictable monthly revenue generated from all active subscriptions.
MRR provides a month-by-month view of recurring revenue and is especially useful for tracking growth trends, seasonal patterns, and the impact of pricing changes. MRR is broken into components: new MRR (from new customers), expansion MRR (upsells and upgrades), contraction MRR (downgrades), and churned MRR (cancellations). ARR is simply MRR multiplied by 12.
